Valentine's

Eve, my 8 year-old daughter and I made these for Valentine's Day. In all we made 8 different gifts. They have either a pen or chapstick in them. Their for her teacher, the bus driver, librarian, music teacher, and a teacher from last year. It's our tradition to make homemade cards for Valentine's Day. Usually we make them for the entire class, but I'm on vacation this year so it's not happening. Hehehee. We used a template created by Lynda at Lynda's Quiet Time for the cards and used Regina Andari's tutorial for the Gable box.

recipe:
Al supplies used were from Stampin' Up! with the the exception of the RSVP pen
Stamps: Priceless
Ink: Purely Pomegranate
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Berry Bliss (designer paper), Whisper White, Purely Pomegranate
Accessories: Ribbon Chocolate Chip, Dimensionals, Scallop punch, Slit punch

Splitcoast Sketch Challenge #201

This was my attempt at Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge 201. Here's the gallery for this sketch.

It's also the color challenge of this week, Pretty in Pink, Kiwi Kiss, and Red Riding Hood. I was so tempted to use the Pink Pirouette instead of Pretty in Pink. I have to say I was really challenged since I already know that Pirouette and Red Riding Hood work, because Stampin'Up designed them that way, scientifically I know that somehow on the color wheel they are harmonious. So I am proud of myself for going through with the challenge. Emily Giovani really has a gift for picking up some really fun, funky colors that work. Me, not so much, I have to play by the rules. I think it's kind of a first born kind of a thing.

This past week I gave up my status as a Stampin' Up demonstrator. It was a very freeing feeling for me. Oh don't get me wrong, I love, love love the company and will remain a die hard fan and customer. I was just a hobby demonstrator for a year, and I have more than enough supplies to keep me stamping for months. I feel good about the decision because it will challenge me to use up what I have.

This is stamping and crafting season for me. The weather is dropping and it's nice to enjoy some creative adventures. This Fall/Winter I want to send more cards to friends. I have a habit of making cards, and then filing them away in boxes. So here goes...
Thanks for reading!
